Most wind instrumentalists have heard of circular breathing, which is a technique that enables you to breathe in as you're breathing out to maintain a long, constant tone. Circular breathing is centuries old and was used by the Aboriginals when they played the didgeridoo. These days, it is used by many Classical and jazz wind instrumentalists. During circular breathing, you breathe in through your noise while breathing out through your mouth. It sounds easy enough, but it requires training and lots of practise to master! The trick is to take a deep breath and breathe out. While you're exhaling, fill your cheeks with air and push this air back in while taking short, powerful inhalations through your nose. Duidelijk overzicht van oefeningen om met circular breathing te beginnen, ingedeeld in beginners - intermediate - gevorderd. Met heldere uitleg van ademhalingstechniek, oplossingen voor veelvoorkomende problemen, en uitgebreid advies om zelf mee aan de slag te gaan.

In principe zou circular breathing voor alle blaasinstrumenten moeten werken maar er wordt wel opgemerkt dat het op sommige instrumenten van nature wat lastiger is, afhankelijk van de embouchure en hoeveel lucht er nodig is.

Beetje aan de dure kant voor zo'n dun boekje maar de inhoud is het zeker waard!
